Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park

The Most OVERWHELMINGLY scary yet beautiful park i have ever seen.

Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park is about a 5.5-hour drive from Los Angeles. It is a great option if you don’t have the time or patience to do the 10-hour drive up to Redwoods National Park. I flew from Los Angeles to San Jose and then rented a car to drive back to Los Angeles on PCH. My mission, however, was to see the Redwoods.

I am a New York City girl. As such, I had never seen a Redwood tree before. As soon as I stepped into the park and began walking the trail, I immediately turned back. The trees were gigantic! Especially to someone like me who is 5’1 on a good day! I also was the only person on the trail at the time. Fear set in quickly, and I felt like I would have a panic attack. After talking myself down and remembering that I paid for a plane ticket and a rental to make this trip happen, I returned to the trail, but not until I saw other people there with me.

I am so glad I decided to go through with it. It was the most breathtaking experience ever. The pictures don’t do it justice. If you love nature and/or spirituality, you will enjoy this park as much as I did. I highly recommend visiting this park if you need some grounding as well.
